Frequently Asked Questions
What can I expect in my first session?
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We'll discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, your goals, and answer any questions you may have about the therapeutic process.
How do you handle crisis or emergencies?
Mend and Thread Therapy is not a crisis service. Although I do acknowledge that during our time together crisis may occur. In this case, we would discuss safety planning which would be activated with a nominated person and/or next of kin. I would then support linkages to the appropriate services. When the crisis is contained, we can explore therapy once more.
Medicare Rebates
Mental Health Nurses are unfortunately limited under the Medicare Rebate system at present. Thus, Medicare rebates are not applicable.
Payment Structure
Payments at this time will be taken via a simple invoicing system. Before each session you will receive an invoice by email with all the details you need for payment. You can pay by bank transfer which is due on the day to ensure everything is running smoothly.
Private Insurance & NDIS Fundung
If you have private health insurance or NDIS funding, you may be able to claim part of your session cost. Please check with your provider directly as this is not something Mend & Thread can process
